PSDSARC Signs Multiple Agreements During the International Education Exhibition

PSDSARC Signs Multiple Agreements During the International Education Exhibition

The Prince Sultan Defense Studies and Research Center (PSDSARC) signed a number of research contracts and agreements today during the International Education Exhibition (EDGEx 2025), held from April 13–16 in Riyadh. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education with the participation of leading academic institutions and technology companies from the local and international education sectors.

These included research contracts with King Khalid University and Qassim University, encompassing a range of innovative, high-quality studies in security and defense systems, in addition to a joint cooperation agreement with Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.

Dr. Saud bin Saeed, Director General of PSDSARC, emphasized the Center’s commitment — through this distinguished educational event — to exploring and fostering cooperation with academic and research institutions participating in the exhibition. The aim is to help create a national environment that stimulates high-quality and advanced research, promotes knowledge and expertise exchange with relevant stakeholders, and builds research and technical collaboration with leading entities to transfer and localize advanced defense technologies.

He also noted that the exhibition serves as an excellent platform to discover the latest innovations and scientific solutions across various disciplines, aligning with the objectives of the General Authority for Defense Development, which the Center strives to achieve by training specialized human capital in the defense development sector and advancing the localization of defense technologies.

The Prince Sultan Defense Studies and Research Center (PSDSARC) participated today with an informational booth highlighting its key products and research during the first edition of the Saudi Drone and Artificial Intelligence Exhibition in the agricultural sector (SADF). The event, supported by the International Drone Federation, is being held over three days at The Arena Riyadh Venue and Events Center.

During its participation, the Center showcased a number of innovations, products, and research initiatives in the field of unmanned aerial systems and their development. The PSDSARC booth featured its products aligned with the exhibition’s theme: “Integration between Drones and Artificial Intelligence.”

The Center also presented its role in developing protection and defense systems through its research and products in electro-optical fields and practical applications, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

It is worth noting that this is the first edition of the Saudi Drone and AI Exhibition, which aims to promote research and innovation in drones and artificial intelligence fields, contributing to the employment and investment of technology to preserve vegetation and increase green spaces.

The Prince Sultan Defense Studies and Research Center (PSDSARC) signed several research contracts with Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh. This initiative was supported and enabled by the General Authority for Defense Development to enhance cooperation with Saudi universities and support scientific research.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Saud bin Saeed, Director General of the Center, and Dr. Naif Al-Otaibi, Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the university. Representing the parties were Dr. Mohammed Al-Kanhal, PSDSARC’s Assistant Director General for Scientific and Technical Affairs, and Dr. Salem Al-Yami, Dean of Scientific Research at the university.

Dr. Saud bin Saeed underscored the Center’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and cooperation with national universities and academic institutions, in line with the directions of the General Authority for Defense Development, which seeks — through the Center — to deepen and own defense technologies and to develop specialized human capital in the defense development sector.

Through strengthening its relationships with universities as well as academic and research institutions, the Center aims to support and enhance research momentum, build distinguished and qualified national capabilities, and contribute to creating a national environment that fosters high-quality research, facilitates knowledge and expertise exchange with relevant stakeholders, and establishes research and technical collaborations with leading entities to transfer and localize advanced defense technologies.
